I became a lawyer because I’m called to help others. I know from firsthand experience that you can make your life better by helping other people make their lives better. With every case I take, I remind myself that the goal is not to get revenge or make a flashy statement but to help clients secure the money they need to recover from their injuries.

I wasn’t your “typical” law school student. I was a mother of four who commuted through two states every weekend to attend classes. Determined to create a better life for myself and my family, I finished law school in just over two years in the top 10 percent of my class. In 2006, I became licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Indiana.

I was a single parent when I started my career as an attorney, balancing my children’s needs with my clients’ needs. I know how disrupting an injury or lack of transportation can be to your family’s routine; the repercussions of a car accident can follow you for months! That’s why I exclusively work with victims who’ve been injured. I look back on all the encouragement and support I received from my family and friends, and I strive to provide that same level of support to all of my clients.

Emery Law Office opened in 2017. Today, we serve victims of all kinds of auto accidents, like bicycle collisions, car crashes, truck crashes, or motorcycle accidents; pedestrians who’ve been struck by a vehicle; and those who have suffered injury due to negligence in other ways. I believe people are unique, like snowflakes, not like cars built on an assembly line. We’ve each taken different paths to get where we are today, and we have particular needs and challenges. Your case isn’t the same as your friend’s car accident case, and you can’t expect it to have the same outcome. When I’m not pursuing compensation for my clients’ injury damages, my favorite thing to do is spend quality time with my family. Sometimes that looks like offering support to my grown kids as they navigate college and careers, or my favorite thing, cuddling my little granddaughter. Between cheering my kids on and working hard for my clients, I decompress by reading or taking walks with my dog, Bella. I’ve also connected with people all over the world through Compassion International and cherish my relationships with the children I’ve sponsored.
