I became a lawyer because I feel I was called to help others. I believe that you can make your life better by helping other people make their lives better because I’ve experienced it firsthand. With every case I take, I remind myself that the goal is not to get revenge or win a huge payout, but to help car crash victims secure the money they need to recover from their injuries.
I wasn’t your “typical” law school student. I was a mother of four who commuted through two states every weekend to attend classes in Lansing, Michigan. Determined to create a better life for myself and my family through a career as a lawyer, I finished law school in the top 10 percent of my class in just over two years. In 2006, I became licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Indiana.
When I started my career, I was a single parent balancing my children’s needs with my clients’ needs. I know how much a disruption being without your car for a day or getting injured can be to your household routine and how its repercussions can follow you for weeks. This is why I exclusively work with victims who’ve been injured in collisions. I look back on all the encouragement and support I received from my family and friends, and I strive to provide that same level of support to all of my clients.
Emery Law Office opened in 2017. Today, I serve victims who’ve been injured in all kinds of auto accidents, like bicycle collisions, car crashes, truck crashes, motorcycle accidents and pedestrians who’ve been struck by cars, buses and other types of vehicle. I believe people are like snowflakes, not like cars built on an assembly line. We’re all unique, and we’ve all taken different paths to reach where we are today. And we all have unique needs and face unique challenges. Your case isn’t the same as your friend’s car accident case, and you can’t expect it to have the same outcome. Emery Law Office treats every single client like an individual and gives their case the attention to detail it needs. You’re not a case number here, you’re a member of our family.
When I’m not pursuing compensation for my clients’ injury damages, you can find me on the sidelines at my kids’ sporting events. Depending on the season, I might be at a high school cross-country meet, a swim meet or a track meet. Between cheering my kids on and working hard for my clients, I decompress with reading and sponsor children through Compassion International. I’ve connected with people all over the world through Compassion International and cherish my relationships with all of them.
