Louisville, Kentucky (July 05, 2026) – Eight people were injured following a two-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 265 in eastern Jefferson County Sunday evening, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Louisville Metro Police responded to reports of the crash near the 24.5-mile marker on I-265 at approximately 6:50 p.m.

According to the preliminary investigation, a pickup truck and a sedan collided after one of the vehicles was merging into the center lane. The impact caused both drivers to lose control, resulting in both vehicles rolling over and coming to rest in the cable barriers separating the roadway.

Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS arrived at the scene and triaged the victims before transporting all eight occupants to area hospitals. Authorities said all of the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Interstate 265 were temporarily closed while emergency crews assisted the injured, documented the crash scene, and cleared the roadway. All lanes have since reopened.

The Louisville Metro Police Department is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
