What are the two types of amputations?
Some limbs are lost at the scene and others in the operating room days or weeks later. Traumatic amputation injuries happen at the moment of a crash or accident, while a surgical amputation comes later, when doctors can’t save a limb damaged by crushing, infection or poor blood flow. In Kentucky, both can be part of an injury claim when the crash or fall caused the injury that led to the loss.
